Beauty is Skin Deep
Hello friends! I want to share my daily skin routine with you guys and first ever facial experience! My journey to finding the "perfect" skin routine is on going but as of now, my skin is way better than it was a couple years ago. It took a lot of experimenting and playing around with different products but I think the routine that I have in place now is working pretty well.
When I was younger, I had acne prone skin and it was hard dealing with it. I'm sure you guys know if you had acne growing up, how hard it was. I never really took care of my skin until a couple years ago. My skin is a lot better now (acne wise), I only break out when I'm on my period (which is very normal). But I'm still dealing with dryness, redness and acne scars.
I even went to a dermatologist for the redness but it turns out to just be because of the weather (I live in Houston, so the weather is very bipolar) I recently looked into getting a facial done and the benefits of it and finally got one done. I have super sensitive skin and was always skeptical of having a facial done because I don't know what they will put or do to my skin. But my experience at Kalon Skin Studio was nothing but AMAZING.
Facial Experience:
Kenia is a licensed massage and skin therapist, Dermalogica Expert and a certified Wax specialist. When I arrived, she took great care of me. She sat me down first and asked me questions about my skin and asked If I had any concerns. She answered all of my questions, and If you know me, I ask a lot! I told her about my skin problems and struggles and from there we started the facial. Before each step she explained what she was going to do and information about each product used. She cleansed, exfoliated, mask, toned, and moisturized my face. She taught me the importance on exfoliating.
-NEVER use a sugar scrub or any harsh scrubs/ exfoliant on your face. Its okay to use those on your body but not your face.
-Enzyme exfoliation is the way to go especially for your face because it works more gently. It gently and evenly removes the uppermost layer by digesting dead skin cells. (how cool!)
Have you ever wondered what type of skin you really have? (oily, dry or combo) I've always wondered because sometimes my skin is super dry and at times its oily. Kenia examined my skin and told me I have more of dry skin.
Overall, I had the best facial experience with Kenia! She educated me on skin care and especially exfoliating, which I've never done before!
I left with some Dermalogica products and have been testing it out and so far, so good!
I've been using the daily microfoliant and skin hydrating masque every night and my face is super soft in the mornings!
I would definitely recommend seeing Kenia for all your facial, wax and massage needs! I had a blast and learned so much! Book your appointment with her today!
